What do I need to use this online photo gallery?
You need webspace that supports ASP (active server pages) Ask your ISP if your not sure. You also will require the folder that the images are uploaded to (docs), have writing permissions ( ask your ISP to grant you the permissions). Alternatively we can register a domain and set the whole thing up for you to make it trouble free. This will incur and additional $75 charge.
You can upload jpg, gif, tiff, or bmp file types. All the popular file types are supported.
Can this photo gallery produce thumbnails?
Yes one version of this gallery can resize images. Although you will need your isp to install a component called "dimage" that comes bundled with the thumbnail version. You will need to ask your ISP first to see if they will load it up onto their server. If they won't then you can still use the Gallery version that doesn't produce thumbnails this will mean that the full size image is downloaded to the users browser which will of course take longer than a thumbnail of the same image. So all in all its better to use the thumbnail version but not essential.
What are the limitations of this gallery?
Obviously when you have used up all your webspace then you cant upload anymore images. The upload time will determine the maximum file size you can upload, a rough guide is that more than 1 meg would fail on a normal 56k dial-up connection because your webspace and browser both have timeout values and if these are reached before your image has had a chance to upload it, then it would fail.
